Bob Sweikert won the 1955 Indy 500 with a speed of 128.209 mph. He drove the John Zinc KK500A/Offy. Bob also won the inaugural Hoosier Hundred in 1953. He was running second behind Bill Vukovich when Bill was killed on the 57th lap. Sweikert was killed in a sprint car crash at Salem Speedway June 17, 1956.
